Colden R. Battey, Jr., has been a member of the firm since 1963. He has a diverse practice with emphasis on personal injury, large commercial litigation and administrative proceedings. Colden served as Chairman of Beaufort County Council for 8 years and was Chairman of the Board of FirstBank, a federally chartered bank, from its inception in 1986, until it merged with First National Bank in 1999.

He is currently a member of the South Carolina State Ports Authority and is Chairman of the Board of Nemours Wildlife Foundation, a 501(c)(3) foundation dedicated to the conservation of wildlife and their habitats.
